Cannot get paid by CPM

All CPM firms I tried pays less than 0.20 per 1000 views

Hello.

I am thinking that somone might know what I am doing wrong or maybe I am using the wrong services....

One of my websites has around 2000 unique visitors/day and around 40 000 page views daily.
The site is an "Adobe Flash Files" directory.

I tried few CPM services to get revenue form displaying* ads, they all seem to pay under 0.20 per 1000 impressions.

Is this the best I can get? I heard people getting paid $1, $2, even more per 1000 impressions.

What am I doing wrong?
I only used each company for 2-3 days. Do I need to wait longer for the advertising companies to "optimize" the ad display?

So far I tried ValueClickMedia and now BannerConnect, both pay me under 0.20 CPM.

I don't go into the cpm model, so I can't comment from that aspect, but have you tried monetizing your site via other methods, such as contextual advertising, affiliate sales, direct ad sales etc.?

You might want to look into these other areas and test to see what pays best.

I have adsense but the clickrate is under 0.30% and around 0.06$/click for me. With 2000-3000 unique visitors only around $4/day form adsense.
The site also has 100x40 (montly payment) image banners which pay better than adsense too.

The unfortunate reality is that some sites no matter how good they are, just don't pay the bills.

I've had a few of those myself, but when you string together 20 or 30 of these sites pulling in $$5-10/day, then you have some workable income.

With AdSense a site with 500 page views daily generates $7 and this one with 40 000 page views daily and 40 000 members , 1000 pages in site generates $2.
And I can say I tried many AdSense optimization techniques.

... Hoping for income from valueclick now :)
