Amazon Affiliate Image Link Broken

My wife uses the Amazon affiliate program.

Today all of the image links in the "Cut and Paste" code are showing (broken) relative links rather than full links to the Amazon image.

So of course the image is broken, and I have to fix the path for her by cutting/pasting "http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/" onto the front of the jpg path.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Using Amazon's own affiliate forums is the best way to deal with it.

Yes, ask other Associates on the discussion boards in the Associates area, or contact the staff via "Feedback." Amazon staff are never seen here and seldom on the Associate boards at Amazon....

I noticed the same problem and finally realized what they want you to do is copy the image and upload it to your own site. And they don't make it easy to copy - you have to hover over just the right place when right-clicking to get that option.

Here's a handy way to get product images from Amazon, in one of three sizes:

For any 10-digit ASIN (replace ###ASIN### with the product ASIN in the following links):

[images.amazon.com...] - large

[images.amazon.com...] - medium

[images.amazon.com...] - thumbnail

If you are direct linking to a product, you can also use an approved do-it-yourself link format, meaning you don't have to use the Amazon link-building process:

ou can set up a direct product link like this:

[amazon.com...]

Replace ASIN with amazon's 10-digit ASIN for any product (ISBN-10 for books). Replace YOURASSOCIATESID with your associates ID.

I have hundreds of links on my site that use that format and they work fine.

You're welcome--how to do DIY direct links comes up often on the Amazon Associates boards, and those two bits of info get copied and pasted by me and a few others to answer questions over and over, so all I had to do was paste them here instead....
