I am have been doing ad sales for a community center's magazine since 9/2003. I am the ONLY person in the department and I have grown the sales from $4,000 a month to about $9,000 a month. I exceeded all expectations and now I think it is time to ask for a monthly or yearly bonus.
I work part-time making $18.50 a hour (I am a full time college student). For the fiscal year of 2004 I brought in $88,000 in ad revenue. I am going to propose a bonus structure the first week for the fiscal year of 2005, which started July 1st and ends June 30. Does anyone have ideas on what type of bonus structure I should request for a small level magazine? I am doing tons of work from cold calls, accounts receivable, assisting with artwork and even collections - they overwork you at community centers! I was considering asking .03% on the total amount of ad sales for the fiscal year of 2005 but I think asking for something monthly would be more appropriate. However, I do not know where to start or ask for.... if anyone has any ideas on what a standard structure would be good to use for the type of sales I am bringing in please let me know.
Thank you.
