Hey All,

What do you guys use to monetize your blogs? I'm deciding between options. Is adsense effective? What other networks are worth considering? What other considerations/factors do you weigh up when choosing who to go with? What average eCPMs do you get across these networks?

Thanks!

I would say that AdSense is the most effective contextual ad program out there. Other programs I have used to monetize sites include Bidvertiser (very low CTR, but good CPCs), Miva (little inventory) and now Kontera (just started).

On top of the above I have also used very targeted affiliate programs to appeal to a website's visitors.

Its always best to mix things up - do not rely on one company or one source of income - In case one goes belly up or just has a bad month.

Just make certain that each company you use will allow you to place other ads. For example, Google allows Yahoo ads, but Yahoo does NOT allow Google ads... (LOL)
