I'm considering joining the TemplateMonster affiliate program. While it looks like easy income, the same incentive has attracted large numbers of affiliates pitting them in competition with each other.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Is it worth it?

Does anyone have any personal experience with it?

Also, there are quite a few other 'template provider' affiliate programs. I'm wondering whether its possible to participate in multiple affiliate programs, and also whether its worth it.

Feedback much appreciated!

A search for the brand produced 1,210,000 results.

I wonder how many of them are affiliates. While it may look like easy income, it is not necessarily high income. Or frequent income.

I found some good reviews - but all of them had an affiliate link ;)

Additionally, they attract some criticism for use of i-frames tied to their site ... so if you are in the SEO business, that may make you unpopular.

Additionally, while they offer 20%, they allow resellers to drop that price (out of their commission), so you can bet that many sellers already offer 15% off, making it hard to compete without doing the same - taking just 5% for each sale.

Finally, some claim that they have 'saturated the market', meaning that you are trying to sell an item that is far from unique.

Sorry to be so negative - but I guess you've already considered the up side :)

As another consideration I don't like their templates. With all the affiliate programs out there, it might be better to spend time promoting a program that has a higher payout.
My feeling about competition is this:
I don't ever worry about it as an affiliate.
I have made lots of money in affiliate programs with hundreds of thousands of other competing affiliates. Anywhere you look there is going to be competition.
The thing that makes a difference is the product: is it something lots of people want all the time, such as credit cards.
I personally can't see pouring lots of time and effort into promoting a bunch of lousy looking templates but that is just my opinion.
