Non-payment of validated commission?

What can I do? Affiliate program owes me £££

I just received an email today from one of the affiliate programs I participate in that one of their merchant programmes is now closed "due to non-payment of validated commissions".

This affiliate program is one of the larger UK affiliate programs so they are not really a fly-by-night business (I hope). I currently have on the higher end of three digits in pounds from this one merchant programme they have closed.

This is the first time this has happened to me and I'm wondering what I should do. Where do I stand as far as complaining or forcing them to make some kind of concession?

I would appreciate any seasoned advice or past experience with this type of circumstance.

I would follow up directly with the merchant. Send an e-mail, follow up with a phone call if needed. If that doesn't work I would try turning the screws on the affiliate company.

Is there anyone affiliate's can complain to?

I mean legally?

Youd have to take your agreement to a lawyer, however I did see an agreement, uk, that said if they dont get paid you dont.

Me thinks it was this one.

You cant sue teh firm that owes you directly as you dont have an agreement with them, or at least id have thought not.

I'm in the same boat with that same company.

I've got some fairly good contacts in the gaming / news world, might try and see if the threat of some news posts might wake them up. :/

If its the same company I'm thinking of, might be worth adding the PR deprtments of their 'close link' industry giant partners to your news contacts. A little downward pressure wouldn't hurt.

Are you thinking of the end merchant or the affiliate program brightspark? If anyone else here has a substantial amount owed please send me a stickymail.
