Where can i promote my affiliate program?

I own a car related website and have just opened an affiliate program. Where is a good place to advertise it and get other webmasters to join, i'm looking for auto related sites.

I'd start with some affiliate program directories, maybe join an affiliate network, then find sites that are of the same theme as your sites and contact them directly. Recruiting affiliates is time consuming, but if you do it the right way you can have some good affiliates promoting and selling for you pretty quickly ( provided your offer and conversion ratios will make the webmasters more money then running adsense or something similar on their sites).
