Facebook has a new ad platform. [blogs.guardian.co.uk] also in the NYTimes [nytimes.com]

Facebook describe it as different: "Instead of random messages from advertisers, we've launched Social Ads. Social Ads provide advertisements alongside related actions your friends have taken on the site. "

Looks like Facebook is on the move again and looking to monetize that data without giving it all away. Looks interesting.

Well - that was easy! Social ad campaign up and running, targeting 125,000 highly targeted (hopefully) ladies across USA with specific interests.

Somewhat more effective than run of site Ads I would hope.

The minimum PPC price is 1 cent. The defualt is 10 cents but I went stingy at 3 cents. Looks like it has been enough for about 4,000 impressions overnight - and unlike Adwords, I get to add an image.

It's amazing to me that Facebook ads aren't more talked about on WebmasterWorld and other online marketing forums.

I'm running campaigns on Facebook and have noticed that I'm getting far more visits from FB users than I am 'paid for' clicks from within FB's ad system. This tells me FB ad impressions are at least for now a viable, free branding vehicle.
