Hi all
I run approx 20 sites to which use a affiliate company. All links/content is placed inside my db and is served to all sites.
Issue....
I ranked in 3rd place for a known insurance affiliate on G. At random times during the day it will show either 1 of my sites or the other. the content is dynamically served yet the content is different, is G reading the out affiliate link as noticing they are the same?

Google will show only one AdWords ad that points to a particular domain, including URLs that redirect to the same primary domain. It also has algorithms to detect "Affiliate Bridge pages" which merely entice the user to click to go to the merchant's site, without adding any original content. It sounds as if you've created multiple web sites (probably using different domains) but they all have the sole purpose of driving traffic to the insurer's primary domain, and Google has detected this.

This means that if you have two campaigns promoting the same company, only one of those ads will appear, never both in the same AdWords group.

If Google classifies your sites as "Affiliate Bridge pages," then you might be banned entirely from advertising.

Since you posted this under the "Advertising" forum I assumed you were asking about paid Google listings. I suspect you'd get more helpful responses if you posted your question in another forum here, but I honestly can't figure out which one is right.

I think you might get better replies in another forum , perhaps under "The Google World" (http://www.webmasterworld.com/category30.htm) or under "The Search Engine World" (http://www.webmasterworld.com/category93.htm). Oddly enough, I don't actually see any forum specifically dedicated to Google natural search or SEO, but it looks like the best place would be the forum for "General Search Engine Promotion and Marketing Issues" (http://www.webmasterworld.com/search_engine_promotion/) which falls under "The Marketing World" (http://www.webmasterworld.com/category12.htm) would be more appropriate.

Moderators? Is there a more appropriate place for this thread?

Is your content or just your links the same?

Are they hosted in the same place?

Did they ever resolve to the same IP?

This sounds like a typical dupe issue, more than just google reading your aff links.

Mark:
This seems a reasonable affiliate topic, although it may be more suitable for the Google Search [webmasterworld.com] forum. We'll leave it here out of boredom.
