Hi,
I went to alexa and did a traffic comparision of some of the big names in Affiliate forums.

The forums are
#*$!
affiliates4u
associateprograms
revenuesource
ewealth.com

Why is the The traffic at these big affiliate forums (read #*$! and associate)going down. Is affiliate marketing loosing steam? due to competition , google de-indexing etc etc.

Well personally I always thought these forums were full of hype from affiliate managers wanting free traffic for merchant.

I only put link on my site if I get paid when someone clicks and not when someone buys.

A guy here by the name rfung or something started good and then took up a job as aff marketing. Does this down traffic pointing to something?

What are your thoughts?

Yeah, I used to think like that. Let's say you have:

1) a CPC advert which pays out $0.20 per click.

2) a CPA advert which pays out $10 per sale and has a CR of 2.5%

If you get 1000 clicks on each advert, the first one will pay you $200 and the second one will pay you $250.

So, pretending for a second you only have space for one of the creatives, which one are you going to choose, the CPC advert or the CPA advert?

CPA never sounds like a great deal for the publisher until you get enough data to see what your conversion rate is. Once you know that, you can work out your eCPC and determine directly how competitive your CPA creative is against your CPC creative.

Well obviously that's a valid point.

But it still does not explain why the traffic of these big affiliate forums is down th hill.
