I have been using AdSense for over a year and am now trying AdSonar on some pages that have not been doing so well with Adsense. If anyone else out there is using AdSonar or can answer these questions, please do:
1. Can I use multiple ad blocks (on one page) with AdSonar? I cant seem to find this anywhere.
2. Does adsonar look at the text of the page like adsense does, or only the category of the site and the meta-tags?
3. Any other advice for doing well with AdSonar?

Thanks
A

Tried them for a few months. Their ads are not very targeted unlike Adsense and they are really very bad at communicating.

My first check which was for August revenue was lost in the mail and I have been trying to get them to replace it but having problem getting my emails to them. Had already sent 6 emails in the past 1.5 months amd still got no reply except once just to tell me that they will get charged for reissuing checks. That's all.

I have already received my Sept check and the Aug check is still floating somewhere out there in the wild and I don't even know if they are going to replace it. Since they are not replying my emails, I'll just have to wait and see.

I believe my AdSonar account rep told me that their technology does look at the content of your pages to place relevant ads.

I tested them against AdSense on two sites in two totally different industries. Interestingly, I received a higher payout per click then Google on both sites but the click through rate was so much lower that Google's effective CPM was more than twice as good.

If AdSonar could further develop its advertiser base and give publishers more targeted ads to display, it could be a winner. It is currently a long way off though.

Thanks for your help. After running AdSonar for a day, I am seeing the same thing. Even though they might be paying more per click, the number of clicks is much less due to the lack of ad inventory. I am going to put adsense back on most of my pages but leave adsonar on some pages for now to try a little longer.
But, to their credit, their reporting page is miles above google's.
