Deep vs Home page landings for Affiliate Sites

Seeking quantification of deep versus home page traffic

I want to find out if there are any specific studies or reports that give some idea of the ratio or value of a deep click versus a home page click for Affiliate Aggregators like BizRate/NexTage/MySimon/etc?

I wonder if anyone with experience in large sites has any information regarding the value of the traffic from the Home Page down to the inner and much better shopping pages?

Of course deep-linked page hits will generate more sales than more general or broad-focused traffic. So I guess the crux of your question is, am I paying affiliates too much to link to my homepage. The answer, probably yes.
