What does the encrypt link option mean on commission junction.

does it increase the speed of the clickthrough?

I've noticed on commission junction when you "get html" there are several options that say "encrypt link" "hide link" etc... I was wondering what the benefits of these options are and if there was a way to speed up the clickthrough of these links. I've noticed that sometimes on my website if you click on a banner or a product link it takes a pretty long time for the product to appear on the merchant site.. Is there a way to speed this up?

hide link - makes the status bar show the merchant url when you put your mouse over the link instead of qksrv.net

encrypt link - encrypts the code to help fight against ad blockers, doing so tho makes the pages and ads load a little slower. Don't think you can do anything about that if you encrypt the link.

I thought the encrypt link option was for protection against scumware. If your link is scrambled the bot won't know to hijack the traffic.

quebrada is right, the encrypt link function is to help combat scumware.

many cookie hijacking programs can overwrite your cookie and replace it with their own. however, if you encrypt your link it's harder for the scumware to overwrite your cookie.
