I am a newbie in the Travel industry. I just read through this forum that there are many merchants whom I can promote & earn commissions. To name few Hotel club, TravelNow, allrez, ian (http://www.webmasterworld.com/advertising/3228405.htm).
I am a bit confused as to how to go ahead for this. Which merchant would be best to promote? Which is the most promising one in terms of revenue. Can some body provide me some pointers as to how to go ahead in the travel market.
And also is it possible to have the links of all these merchants on one website of mine, rather than just promoting one merchant say Hotelclub.
Any kind of help would be really good.
Thanks

You'll have to look at the specific terms of service for each company- several of them have (or had) exclusivity clauses, meaning you can't work with others (or at least not on that specific site).
For comparing them, you need to look at your specific niche market and compare the inventory (number of hotels), prices, availability, etc. and see which one(s) can work the best for your situation. Are you just going to put up linsk on your site or do you want to customize things with XML feeds? Are you goig to use their banners? How deep/specifically do you want to link to their site (just putting a link to the merchant's home page is less valuable than linking to a city page, which is less valuable than linking to a specific hotel, which can be less valuable than having a date/location search on your site)?
It's been a while since I've done any comparison, but we've been using TravelNow for close to 10 years. As I have posted before, their affiliate suport/customer service used to be top notch, has gone to utter crap, but may be showing some signs of improving. We get a check every month, so no real complaints otherwise.
