Is there anyone disappointed with an affiliate program so far?
This question has triggered me these days, I've read a lot about some people having bitter memories with the affiliate programs they have taken part in. Have you ever had disappointing AM experience?

Cabobrian, don't give up on PPC! It might take several tries (it did for me), but PPC is an easy way to get started and once you find something that works well, it can really take off. I think PPC is your fastest way to $1000/month.

Yes, absolutely.

I am a web site developer and have a server that hosts my sites, so I have access to create and host as many pages as I want. But I do not have the budget to run a PPC campaign.

It's less popular in the AM sector, but you can operate entirely on SEO pureplay. If your site is considerably the best information resource for a given search query, any search engine looks uninformed if it doesn't display your site at the top of its list of results.

Let me ask you a question. It's about PPC AM.
If you have 100 or 1000 items, do you create all folders and item pages manually?

Or is there any automated way? Maybe RSS (I just not familiar how this works though).

For example dealnews site, how did they manage all these 1000s of pages? Looks like the item short description is set as a folder and than the actual item html page.

I doubt they do it manually... Any input would be appreciated!

I'm still learning about the use of databases to create content dynamically, but I know that a couple of popular tools for doing this are php and mysql. There is probably a lot of information on both in other sections of the WW forums. Right now I'm creating each of my pages manually, which is beginning to get time consuming :)

agree, but isn't with dynamic pages (content) you will not be able to do a good product promotion? Maybe I'm wrong...

Anyway you need to populate the database, hmm probably here is RSS comes into play.

Could anybody provide me with a good example of affiliate web site so I can take a look and figure out how stuff works? Something simple but good. If links or names are not allowed, please shoot me a private message.

All you have to do is some searches at the engines for phrases that are likely to have affiliate sites in the SERPs and there are plenty of great ones out there to be found. I see them all the time, and keep a folder in bookmarks.

It's unlikely that people will show their sites to anyone and say "This makes me a lot of money, do it like this." Unless of course they're pulling people into something they'll get PAID for introducing them to. But that isn't honest help (which is consulting, which there's a charge for) that's opportunistic profiteering in many cases (and IMHO is often trolling for a downline).

Why would people show their own sites so they can be copied?
