Forum Moderators: skibum
I would like to do the same thing on my site, but I am wondering if this is allowed by Goggle, as I would rather not get kicked out of the Google program.
IntelliTxt is an add on which scans your page and underlines certain keywords, when a user points to these underlined keywords a box will apear above the keyword with ana advertisor for that keyword.
See a demo at <snip>
Please note I am not trying to get the above forum in trouble, I just like the way they have it implomented.
Again I want to know if this is ok to do as I don't want to get kicked out of Goggle.
Thank you.

I was contacted by IntelliTXT today.
They tell me that it is not against their TOS to run IntelliTXT and Google Together infact they mentioned 60% of their clients run both together.
I asked if I would be in violation of Googles TOS and again was told NO, that Google had relaxed their rules.
So I researched the Google site and can not find anything about running any other contextual ads. (Ad I remember there being something about that in there before) The closest I can find is this...
Competitive Ads and Services
We do not permit Google ads or search boxes accessing Google search services to be published on web pages that also contain what could be considered competing ads or services. This would include ads that mimic Google ads or otherwise appear to be associated with Google on your site. If you have elected to receive content-based Google ads, this would also include all other content-targeted ads. If you have elected to receive Google search services, this would include other search services on the same site and non-Google query-targeted ads. We do allow affiliate or limited-text links.
I have read through the Google Adsense TOS Dated October 20, 2004 and see nothing regarding this.
Can someone tell me where in the Google rules this program is a violation of? In my research I can't find anything now.
Again the people at IntelliTXT seem to think that is ok to have them both.
I have emailed Google but have not gotten a reply.
Also someone mentioned above that it depends how big you are, without giving actual numbers I can say that last month I did about 4 million Google Ad impressions. I don't know if that makes a difference.
Thanks for your help guys.
Unfortunately, the way text ads have developed in our industry, the phrase "contextual advertising" means something different then it describes, and as such, can be taken 3 ways:
any dynamic advertising based on the individual pages content
text based advertising based on the individual pages content
text ads grouped into "adsense like" boxes based on the individual pages content
Only the 3rd is disallowed directly by the AdSense program.
