Using one ad network as default for another

How do I do this?

I would like to serve Tacoda banner ads on my site as primary, then when those run out, default to Burst banner ads. I am active in both programs and fortunately their user interface is the same, yet I haven't been able to figure out how to properly do this.

(For background on what I want to do, see this old thread regarding Burst and Fastclick: [webmasterworld.com...]

Right now I have Tacoda script on my site. In my Tacoda account, I have set up a personal campaign using an html link. The html page has nothing but the Burst script on it. This seems like it should work, but Tacoda shows 5,000 defaults today while at Burst I'm getting almost no paid views and tons of defaults (which are just affiliate banners).

Is anyone familiar with this process and can give me tips? Thanks very much!

Mmmm, yes, that sounds familiar. I have Burst as my primary default for ValueClick and I see much the same thing. Unless anyone has experience to say differently I would suggest the problem lies at Burst's end, not yours.

Thanks for your input, ronin.

Interestingly, I also saw a post in the Burst forum recently that there is usually some "leakage" with ad chaining (not only with Burst) and "no one knows why." This just seems wrong and like something that could be fixed. I would think Burst wouldn't want to lose all my page views by forcing me to choose them or Tacoda.

I wrote to support at Burst today about it - it will be interesting to see if they have anything helpful to tell me. I'll post here if so!
