Hi,

Does anyone has any experience with geo-targetted advertisings on their websites? I am interested to learn before I dedicate any efforts to it.

How do you do it? Does it pay? Do you use in-house software, or some ad network to do geo-targetting?

Thanks

I've just had the experience of trying to install geo-targeted ads on my site ... and not being able to see them! The code was supplied by the advertiser.

I'm in Canada, and the ads are targeted for the US, so US users can see them but I can't.

I had to get help from a friend in the US to send me screenshots so I could see if they looked okay.

That is not a problem, all you need to do is find an "anonymous proxy" (i.e. highjacked computer) in your geo-targetted area.

Was it worth the trouble?

I don't know how to do the "anonymous proxy" thing. (I'm very good at some things, utterly clueless at others.)

I don't know yet if the ads are worth the trouble ... they've only been up a couple of days. I'll let them run for a while and see how they compare to Adsense.

buckworks, can you please share your experience once you came to a conclusion?

you can PM me if it's too sensitive to discuss in public
