CJ eBay registrations getting withdrawn?

Has anyone experienced on Commission Junction (with the eBay affiliate scheme), that they are getting an active registration (ie. £6), only for that money to then later be taken away (showing up in a report as a red minus amount)... this is happening with increasing regularity and is really annoying

What is causing this to happen... I seem to be losing a lot of money this way... happens with bids (at 5p a pop) as well as registrations?

The registrations only stick if the register places a bid withing 30 days. If they do not, then eBay reverses the commission.

Hi hannamyluv, thanks for the reply

But doesn't an 'active' registration mean that the person has placed a bid?

On my reports there's

"£0.00 Registration"
and
"£6.00 Active Registration"

I assumed that a registration would only earn you £6 (and become active) if someone placed a bid within 30 days

WHy am I being awarded £6 for an 'active' registration only to have it withdrawn later in the month?

Would this entirely be down to someone placing a bid, and then withdrawing their bid?

It's a pretty big problem on my reports... are there really that many people on eBay who bid, only to withdraw their bid?

It may be that they have decided that the registration and subsequent bid were fraudulent somehow. Perhaps you should email them and request an explination.

I'm pretty certain that the registrations aren't fraudulent, so I'll try and get in touch with eBay and ask why this is happening

reversals like this happen quite regularly with the bids and I suppose it happens with registrations as well.

explanation is that ebay credits the referrals and then reconciles them later. Often they find that your referral had actually clicked on another affiliate's link first (usually one of the major affs), and you lose.

some believe it is a conspiracy to reduce payouts.

that doesn't pass the smell test. if they are using cookies, then they should be able to reconcile immediately. if they are not using a cookie, then they have no way of tracking previous activity. so

a conspiracy to reduce payouts
starts to sound reasonable.

i don't believe the major affs use the same tracking network (CJ) and therefore utilize a different cookie. Normally the last CJ aff (you or me) would overwrite the previous aff's cookie. Doesn't work when two tracking services collide.

This drives me crazy
I have no idea how ebay is doing $ wise on any given day.

Its hard to focus serious attention on this
