I just made an offer on my website to sell a premium spot. it is PR6, 40,000 uniques/day website. My audience is arts/gaming/entertainement orianted. Ok, here's what I offered to my (hopefully found) advertiser.

Details:

-PR 6 website (my website) direct linking the website(ad)
-40,000 unique visitors daily
-100,000 page views per day
-Alexa: 30.000
-3 million impressions per month.
-Technorati blog rank: 3.000
-appeared on CNN, NBC, Yahoo Recensions...

this ad includes linking from PR6 website which will improve advertisers search engine ranking.

so my question:

How much $ should I ask for this type of premium ad placing? I want to place only one highly visible ad of an advertiser, giving him best deal and visibility (upper right corner of my sidebar - basically in the middle of the page).

I saw techcrunch asks 10,000$ per month for this kind of ad, and I wante to sell it for 2,000$. Is 2,000$ monthly for 3 million impressions of my future advertisers banner/link too much or to low?

what do you suggest?

thanks!

Who are you trying to kid?

How do you think an advertiser will feel when they discover they have been duped?

Rethink your strategy, and then contact potential advertisers directly, with a firm proposal. You do know how much they currently pay for advertising, don't you?

A question a propsective advertiser will ask is for you to prove your claimed figures. Can you? Have you had your site audited?

why would I want to kid someone? If my site is PR6, and has this amount of traffic, doesn't it mean if I link advertiser from my PR6, it will give them points for their PR upgrade which transforms to higher SE placing?

I'm just politely asking you if my cost (2,000$) per 3 million impressions is ok price? too low or to high?

just to inform you that I should have higher the price. From some other sources I received 3 inquiries already.

What would be the price you suggest? I will stick with this one for a while to keep my advertisers for now. In the future I'll think about other prices.

How much you can get is how much the market will bear. Throw out a high number and if someone takes you up on it, then that's how much you can get. If you don't get any takeers, then lower your asking amount until you get a level where you do get people wanting to advertise.

$2000 for 3 million page impressions is too high. They won't likely renew after a month. $1200 is more like it even less like $800 a month.
