Ads "below the fold"

Ads at bottom of page don't perform

In general, the only ads that "work" below the fold are those that are closely related to the content.

If you put Google AdSense ads at the bottom of your page, your CTR will be quite nearly zero, and you'll probably not make any meaningful income.

The best use for "below the fold" and "bottom of page" ad space is for affiliate links and tightly-targetted advertising that's closely related to the content of the page. As mentioned, if your page reviews or describes a product, a link to purchase that product may be quite effective at the bottom of the page.
