Strange requests for paid link requests

I've gotten at least two emails in the past week from people looking to place a paid add on a fairly deep page on one of my sites. The sites have nothing to do with my site's topic, and the page on my site doesn't even any have any of the keywords that should interest them. The PR is low (3).

First instinct is to of course grab the money, it's not a lot, but it's probably worth a little effort on my part to allow a page targeted ad on the site. However, it sounds a little suspicious, like maybe the site will turn into a link farm a week after I get it and drag my PR down, or maybe link to some virus site, etc. It certainly looks like something automated being sent out.

Anyone else get something similar lately?

I've received similar requests. No relation at all to my site.

I usually tell the solicitor to get an account with Adwords and I would be happy to have his link in one of my Adsense boxes. No takers yet. Curious huh?
