Connecting Affiliates and Merchants

Is this a business?

Greetings!

I have lots of clients who could benefit from affiliates, but they would NEVER go through the trouble of making the connection or any of the tracking/measuring/follow-up stuff. Is this what an affiliate manager does? I would like to start connecting some clients with affiliates, but I don't know what my method of compensation would be.

Has anyone done this (probably thousands!). What is a good model for me to make a buck (other than becoming an affiliate)?

Thanks,

Bill

Many affiliate / merchant relationships are established through companies such as Commission Junction, shareasale, etc that take care of set up, tracking, and compensation.

I'm an aff and have approached merchants directly as well. I find that these "independent" relationships are more profitable. Also, it can be fairly expensive for the merchant to set up with CJ et al.

So, yes, it's a business and it's been done on a grand scale, but if you can put the two groups together with less expense, then you can share in the profit.
