Hi need help here. I have been into affiliate marketing for the last 14 months and I have only made a total of 9 sales. I am using ppc as a way to promote products that I get through clickbank and I advertise in msn and yahoo. I have tried many products but lost a lot in trying this. I need some advice in choosing the right products.

1.Would you choose a new product against the popular one?
2.Is it good to do split testing on the same kinds of products?
3.What are the best things to consider in promoting products in clickbank?
4. Is the 200 clicks per product testing a good thing to do?

Any other inputs coming from you guys will be highly appreciated!

Thanks

I've played around with CB and you really have to be careful when driving pay per click traffic straight to merchant. You can burn through a lot of money with relatively few sales to show for it. Keyword research is a MUST with PPC. Not only for variations of keywords you might want to bid on, but for also finding "negative" keywords...keywords you do NOT want to show up for. If you are showing up for garbage searches and curious surfers click on your ads, you are only wasting money. By weeding out the keywords that are junk, you will lower your costs and at the same time increase your return on investment.

In terms of which products to try? Trying new ones may be a good strategy, but you have to be willing to see if they will become eventual winners or losers. (The landing page and how it converts comes into play bigtime). Going after the proven converting products can be tough because everyone and their dog is going after them. So, it's a tough call. If you find that certain products just aren't converting at all for you, you need to be nasty and cut out the fat before you lose your shirt on them :)

thanks dave, about the negative keywords I usually always put free crackz cracks etc. to my list, are there other ways for me to determine negative keywords?

Sure, do some keyword research on the product in question. If you see any words that you wouldn't want someone typing in and seeing your ad, make that a negative keyword....You'll be surprised at how many you find!

Dave.

p.s. Negative keywords will literally make or break a campaign. If you take the time to painstakingly research and add negative keywords to your campaign you can seriously go from an unprofitable campaign to a very profitable one (perhaps lower volume, but at least a profit...which is better, right?)
