Is there a formula?

Recently, someone offered me $a to place a text link to his site on my site. I accepted it.

That was completely out of the blue, so now I am thinking that if I advertise text links for sale, I may be able to sell more?

But, is there a formula for determining the value of a text link? I have $a as a baseline, I suppose. But, then I wonder if, since I took his first offer, maybe it's worth more?

It is a PR4 site in a competitive category. If I know that I average x visitors per month, is there anyway of calculating a value?

There is no formula.

However, you can check what links are being sold in your industry and for how much. Then you can compare your PR, back links, traffic, authority and quality of traffic to those that are selling links for a specific amount.

Many times I see sites sell links for much less than they are worth, but mostly it is the opposite (over charge).
