I run a website (please feel free to PM me for details) that having been up only 5 months (taking over from an old site) has already tipped over the 50 million hit mark...
I wanted advice as to the best avenues for revenue production on a site of this size - we have had some sucess with PPC (espotting) but I am of course always looking for ways to improve...
would a page-impression scheme raise more money of a mega hit site, or would it be worth setting up a per compnay set up banner scheme?
Any and all advice of which methods are proven to be best on sites with long visitor counter numbers would be much appreciated!

Make a minisite called [yourname]-clicktohelp.org or something like that, explain the concept on the first page, and have a big button on this page called "Donate a click".
When the user clicks, she gets to a page with about 9 banners from "sponsors". With a cookie, you can prevent users from clicking more than once a day. Sponsors pay per impression (necessary with this concept, since there has to be a direct link between the click and the income).
I made such a site once, and still have the codes and design somewhere - but it wasn't launched because the people who insisted on contacting the sponsors couldn't sell :) . I got the concept from another charitable organization, though, who had some success with the concept.
