I am looking into starting an affiliate site using ian.com private label booking solution. Does anyone have any experience with them? Also does anyone have any other suggestions as to good travel affiliate programs? I am really trying to find a booking engine that doesn't take the visitor from my site to the affiliate site.

I prefer a straight/flat commission in most cases. It's a predictable ROI.

Try World Choice Travel.... we have worked with them for many years. You can use XML if you like, or direct links from them. They pay like clock work and were recently purchased by the same people that own Travelocity.

They offer hotels, cars, flights, insurance, cruises on and on. Can't recommend them highky enough....

Only problem with World Choice Travel is that you're not allowed to have a competing travel affiliate program on the same site as they are on. This draconian clause forced me to remove them.

Antoine, they may say that in their docs (I have never seen this) but we have other affiliate programs on our site for over 4 years now and they have never complained or even mentioned them.

Maybe if you are an existing affiliate it's not a problem. What I did was add them on my website without an affiliate code prior to submitting my application. This was so they could see how they would be presented.

They then emailed me and told me about this clause and that they could not approve me until I removed competing programs. To give them credit the program looks pretty awesome. I was also signing up to see what they are about more than anything else, since I had started a webmaster resource for travel affiliate programs.

As for IAN, I dont think they anto-approve if I remember correctly, so you should just sign up with them if you're curious and see for yourself what they are about. I saw both affiliate programs advertising in Revenue magazine with full page ads, and they seem to be huge, so I think that they are serious both about paying and converting traffic.
