I'm curious how many of you post links/adds in newsletters for your site? do you see much of a response or do people pretty much just skip over them?

Is there a good resource (besides google) for finding newsletters or places to place your site add?

If the newsletter is targeted, and has good distribution, it can be great. The cost of advertising in a newsletter seems to be less for me. I don't sell advertising in my own newsletter (because I only have a few hundred people in it) but I do regularly advertise for my website in other people's newsletters.

I think the reason it is so valuable is because people are actually requesting information about your subject on a regular basis.

Some things to look for:
-Make sure the newsletter requires people to confirm their signups. This eliminates dummy email addresses and people who don't really want the emails.
-Make sure the newsletter is distributed in both HTML and Text and that your ad will appear in both.

... thats all I can think of.

Conclusion - Newsletter advertising works for me.
