We are considering joining Shareasale as an advertiser, and we would like to know in more concrete terms than they list in their website how they prevent fraud. Out biggest concern is as follows:

They say they system works like this: "You place a small piece of code on the receipt page of your website, which will serve as the trigger to shareasale.com that a sale has been made."

What we want to know is, if we have one receipt page, an affiliate can easily figure out what it is, and our confidence is shaken in that an unscrupulous affiliate can keep coming back to that receipt url all the time from the Shareasale hosted trigger ad (or set up a automatic mechanism to do the same), and if all it takes is to land on the receipt page, many more referred and fraudulent sales would recorded than actually happened.

Anybody know anything about how they handle this?

I would ask SAS. Call or email them.
