Hi All

I joined a very well knwn affiliate network about a month ago, infact they being spoken about right now,

I dunno if they're big enough to be mentioned directly.

Well, my initial link from them worked only on the first day I put it up, 3 weeks latter, I paid attention to it an realised that 0 impressions over 3 weeks was impossible , even for extremely low traffic like mine :)

Well, here in the UK, I reported the problem , an I must say that their response was as fast and informative and decisive as I have experienced from any internet based company.

Problem is, All the other posts here have unsettled my mind, people talk about zero sales over years,

I have used ad-aware and other similar cookie destroyers plus off course regularly clear out my web temp files etc
i imagine that if everyone does this, affiliate networks can't score for their affiliates.

Questions
1, does everyone occassionally have problems with non working links

2, Do the affiliate networks, especially the big one in forum conversation right now advocate any strategies to work around cookie identification problems

Please note that I really like the idea of the affiliate networks, infact, me thinks one should be able to make far more money on them from directly selling the product,,,

but, their technology must actually work, for both the advertiser and the affiliate,

So this is just me trying to find out how to make this work for me

Try a few different programs on a few different networks, and after a while try doing a test purchase to make sure it tracks.

Hi Marcia

I was reading in another thread about spyware an adware
an suddenly , i realised that i was missunderstanding what the posters where saying.

Is it a known fact that spyware has been know to overwrite affiliate cookies in customers browsers?

I didn't understand why my well know affiliate network offers link encryption, but it would make sense now

cheers
