for me:

site 1: ~200 a day
site 2: (in reality, a "cluster" of sites- about 5 or 6 domains) about a month old, and I'm getting about 10$ a day, but it's going up.. my first "type b" affil site
site 3: really targetted, waiting to get higher in the serps :)
site 4: just started it as well, a high traffic site planning on using adsense/cpm banners

site 1: $20 a day
site 2: ~$3-$5 a day
site 3: $1 a day

my question is, how do you get a site to make $10/a day after 1 month? :) if you can answer that without revealing too much...

rfung: like in any other business: marketing - or you simply have a site people love to use, then it's easy to make $1k from day one.

Are you the same disgust from digitalp...?

And what do you mean with site 1: ~200 a day, does that mean you are earning 200 dollars each day?

fryman: you have a sticky. two, actually.

rfung: it's not too hard, really. instead of targetting really competitive terms, target a BUNCH of really obscure ones. that's a much faster way to traffic- although it can be a bit more difficult to pull off. it isn't 10$/day consistantly, but it's averaged to be about that

I point a few decent links at the domains, they got indexed almost immediately, and deep crawled a few weeks after that. the individual pages that target specific key phrases are working fine, once it got deep crawled

disgust:

that sounds just about what I have been doing lately :) of course the key here is to find the obscure keywords.

I recently found by accident one such word for a product that doesn't seem to have many links, and plus there's different spellings for it too. I've added a page for that product and it's been netting me about $5 a day so far (well, it's been a week only).

The question then becomes, how does one go about finding obscure keywords for obscure products that are still searched enough times :)

I found a term that people search for 68000 + time a day. guess what? Only 250,000 sites in that cat on yahoo.....

Oh good times are on the way!

How do you know that there is a search that people do 68,000 times a day.. Is there a site to do research on this or is this just a tip you got... Sorry Im kind of new to this but i would love to see statistics on what types of things are searched for and how many times a day in the general subject area of my site

yes, there are things you can use to estimate traffic

I've found using the adwords traffic estimater is a good gauge (relative gauge, not giving you a specific "this many searches" number)
