Do you think it is worth putting a contact us link on Affilate Sites? Does it add anything worthwhile?
The reason I ask is because a lot of the products I am promoting on my Mini Sites are products that I haven't used because they do not apply to me. Stuff like medications, etc, that I don't need, and really couldn't do a full on review for.
I am afraid sorta of getting emails from people asking if I have ever used the product.
I never state anywhere on the site that I have used the product. Before hand I do check out the products that I promote in terms of looking for testimonials, and generally seeing if the product is worthy of being promoted on my site, so that I am not promoting junk.

In fact, on most of my pages I have it in three places: in the top right hand corner, near the top in the centre and towards the bottom of the page. (It looks different in each case).
I couldn't even list the number of ways it has been useful in terms of prospective merchants and clients getting in touch.
Well worth it.
You could always say that you'll just employ people, but then you have them to deal with as well as the constantly ringing phone.
I accept the above points about high ticket items, but thought it was worth posting a balancing comment.
Imagine if every visitor you had called u every day - if you can deal with that, go for it.

Better to let them click through and ask the merchant. I suppose if you only had a few specific products that you knew well you could have a 'Contact Us' page. I guess it depends on the site.

Yes indeed, good point, but I suppose if you were making that many sales you wouldn't need the "contact us" buttons anymore and you could remove them. Thankfully websites aren't set in stone.
Why would you want people sending you a flood of questions about products that aren't yours?
Well, this depends on what kind of site you have, I suppose, but as the editor of an information-based research resource, why wouldn't I want a flood of questions? The questions which don't lead to a direct sale are an excellent source of inspiration for more than half the articles I write, not to mention fuel for the discussion board.
The last thing I want people to do is start going directly to the merchants - not that they'll get much of a reply anyway - whenever they think of any of the merchants I want them to come to my site first to research the merchant.
In my case, I do affiliate marketing so that I never, ever, have to answer any emails or phone calls from customers. The merchant, in mnay cases makes the big profits and gains the customer for life. The benefit of being an aff is that thye take care of all the CS and so forth..
Thanks Michael, Wellzy, and MFishy for putting in your points of view. Now that I look at it from that point of view, along with Wellzy's actual experience from it, I will probably not put it up.
I may not be answering the phone, but still, answering emails from customers that don't understand that the question may be better answered by the merchant, doesn't appeal to me... I have a life too.
I was mainly concerned about making my site look more professional, thus making more Aff Sales. It's not like I am operating huge sites or anything... Just small little babies for now :-]

Sometimes I put the merchant's CS email on my site/page, if I am doing decent volume. This way if they have issues with their purchase and somehow remember my "buy-this-junk-for-cheap-online.biz" site, they do not email me asking why they were not "enhanced" or why they have not lost weight with this "patch" or why their free trial requires a credit card or why their cologne isn't naturally attracting more women or...:)

Yah, unfortunately in Florida during the summer a bathrobe is a bit warm so I am sporting cargo shorts and t-shirts with slippers. :)
On pure affiliate sites I don't place any contact info. Let the merchants handle that stuff.
If I write "how-to" articles or "buying guides" I have contact info. As mentioned above a simple reply to an email can lead to a sale.
Mail me when u have a minute - there's something I may have 4 u.
