Hi!

My manager came in this morning and asked me to find out as much as i can about setting up an Affiliate Programs for other websites, I need to know and find out more...

1) Are there companies that can handle this and whats the pros - cons
2) Is it better to do inhouse?
3) Would I offer it to Any website or should we be picky?
4) anything else i would need to know when starting such a project?
5) If possable can you point me in the right direction? :-)

Ive got a week to get back to him with more information!

Many thanks to those who answer!

1) Yes there are many companies that can help you start an affiliate program. One of the nest known is commision junction (google it).

2)I think for a starter, having a company make it for you is best.

3)It depends if you want to allow any site, or be picky. If you do not like the idea of some adult site to link to you, I think you should be picky.

4)You may want to read up on the subject, before you make your final decisions. Google "guide to starting an affiliate program" for some good reads.

5)Like I said first read some articles, and then look into an affiliate program company that is right for your business.

I hope this helps, and best of luck!

Thanks for that,

I had a look and seems like the way forward is a program that will track users to see who came from where and booked what...

About that CJ, i had a look a the website and they are saying, $5000 prefered partner and $2500 normal...

Do you know if they charge anything more, have you/anyone work with them in any way before...

Im going to have to write a report to the boss with the comments and what i found out...

I am have never dealt with CJ, but some of my clients recommend them. I am not sure about any of the rates.

For any one that is Interested:

I spent some time on the Phone today to a guy from the
OMGUK team, sounds like that might be the cost effective way to go, from what i can tell there is no set up cost, monthly charge , and i think he told me they will look for affiliates for me...

I also took at look at that affiliate Forum website, it isnt as good as this.

So they told me what they have and it sounds good. But has anyone had any 'problems' or such with them...

I also wonder what the OMG stands for, ( i dont think its oh my god) lol!
