I have a localized portal, a localized dating / personals site, and a webmaster resource page -- they all get quality traffic and over a 6 month period, my banner ctr averages 3-50% (yes, 5-0, fifty), now any thoughts on bringing relevant advertisers do my door?

Dammit, Jim, I'm a webmaster, not a salesperson! :o

I wish to keep my integrity on the sites and am doing grassroots marketing at this point (flyers, usenet, other links, etc) I am trying to be selective of my advertisers and have quality links!

any thoughts?

Heh, heh, heh ...no Jim here, Memphis. (How are the ribs at the Rendevous? Still good?)

I run local and regional directories. I recommend concentrating on a media kit for your site. It needs to cite demographics, traffic, and testimonials if you have them. Sponsors for our type of site are generally small, local businesses that really don't understand web advertising. Most of them are going to have to find you, not the other way around. And, when they DO find you, they are going to have to intuitively understand that they need to be on your site.

I offer free trial runs. If you can generate traffic that converts for them, they stay.

Nick is great -- the Rendezvous is wonderful as always... I've been doing exactly as you said -- it's working so far...
