Hi everyone,

Have had a sort of hobby site for a while now and its started to generate quite a bit of traffic. I've been approached by an affiliate company who asked me if i was interested in cashing in. Just wondered though, if I do that are there any "off the shelf" tracking programs i can use to see what links my visiters use to leave my site or would i always have to rely on the affiliate companies stats?

Thanks for any help

I think it's not a problem to believe the affiliate company if it is big and reliable enough. But if you want to be sure, just use a small script that counts pageviews and redirects to the affiliate company. If you're looking for a big solution, I'd suggest using phpAdsNew.

If you have access to your logs, just look in Google for: Redirect Script Examples, or something like that.

I wouldn't worry about the clicks anyway. Assuming you're being paid per sale, the clicks are the easiest thing to track and there's no particular incentive to undercount them. There's a lot more involved in tracking the sales, but most affiliate programs seem to do a reasonably good job of it.
