shareasale only credits first transaction

The shareasale system only credits affiliates with one transaction per computer per merchant per day. If an affiliate brings me a customer and that customer makes multiple purchases in a day, the affiliate never gets credit for transactions past the first. Shareasale states that this is for "fraud protection", but 1 transaction per day per customer seems slightly restrictive. I have stated this opinion to shareasale, we will see what they say.

The word from shareasale is that this can be turned off if a merchant requests it, which I have. However, the affiliate really has no way of knowing whether it is on or off for a particular merchant, so no real way of knowing if they are losing commissions as a result.

the words "wouldn't", "touch" and "bargepole" spring to mind.

How many times does this actually happen?

Will more than 1% of customers purchase again the same day?

problem would be one person making two purchases in one session which is not unusual at all. Suppose it depends on the product.
