I've got a website which recieves between 1000 - 1500 uniques a day, and at least 35,000+ page views a month.
I don't have any advertising on my site except for adsense, a few affiliate programs where appropriate etc. I recently got an email from a company saying that they'd pay me to place a banner on my front page, or any other page on the site.
I'm interested in this, but I have no idea what would be fair to charge for this? It's a fairly large banner too, 468x60.
Any ideas?
1000 = Page views per day
0.25% = Click Through Rate (assuming targeted traffic)
75 = Clicks Per Month
I'd then visit Overture and Google and find out what the going rate was for a click to an advertiser in the target market. Discount it as you are a new business and charge based on the traffic assumptions you’ve made.
So in the example above, if you thought $1 a click was achievable then charge $75 per month flat fee. Alternatively charge them $2.50 CPM, which would get you the same $75 per month but would increase as your traffic did.
