How to advertise your products in your content pages?

Hello fellow webmasters,

I have created a new website (my second) and this one I am planning to make some my money off (don't we all) . The site has around 20 pages of free content. The 'services' I am selling are obviously 100% related to the content.

My big question is how do I advertise my services in the content.

I could go ' and thus when widget x and y are combined you get this reaction to produce widget d. read all about it in <link to product page> ' but I think that intelligent readers would view the rest of the content with a bit of scepticisms, kind of bias toward the rest of the content, they would think it is all sales talk.

I thought about banners (but you know the answer to that one)
The only good solution I have come up with is an internal adwords. Is this OK? I am not so sure I have explored all ways to do this and would like anyone to tell me about there methods. How to advertise your products in your content pages?

It's less like you're trying to sell 'em something if you link to another one of your own pages (with info about the product). Then if they want to click to the buyer's site after reading that, they know they're heading out of your page. This adds content to your site for the search engines to pick up, too.

For example, I see way better sales on the amazon books I review on my site (providing a link within the review) than when I just stick a link to amazon in the middle of an article.
