CJ links in Adwords ads

How's it done?

I've noticed that a few Adwords ads say "qksrv" when u click the link, so I thought I'd give it a try. So how do you set the destination URL to make sure that you get paid?

Is this a trick question?

I recommend you read the AdWords FAQs: [adwords.google.com...]

You simply use the link you get form CJ (get HTML) as th etarget addres in your adword. No big magic about it.

Exactly two weeks ago i emailed a dozen cj merchants and requested permission to use the cj links in ppc campaigns. Until now i didn't receive ANY answer. Killroy, you think it's safe to just set them up? Do you ask the merchants if direct linkage is allowed?

Yidaki - if you check some of the CJU articles on Publisher practices they positively encourage it. Even Google's guidelines say that it's OK provided that you add (aff) or something similar to the ad copy wording.

Don't ask me ;) I don't use that system, since most merchant's sites are crap.. I rather make my own and pre-sell better ;)

Also, I usually get so much traffic organically that I haven't used PPC in a while.

How are you getting on with your adwords and affiliate links? I'd be keen to find out.

Thanks

It's marginal, rather than hugely profitable. The search terms that cost 4 or 5p per click make money, but it's only a "toe in the water" as my regular stuff is quiet at this time of year. CJ are recognising the sales and leads though, so it does work.

I'm amazed that there seem to be so many Kelkoo affs on Adwords. According to CJ, they pay 11 cents per buyer, so even at 10 cents a click you'd need every visitor to buy to make a profit. Unless of course there are any other deals around that might make it more attractive.

Am planning to add further product this afternoon in an attempt to improve the ROI - anyone else care to let me know what works?

Hmmm - like they would invite competitors :)

Thanks

Re Kelkoo - I think they mean 11p for everyone that clicks more details indicating that they are an interested buyer? Maybe?

I supose the game you are talking about is all about volume. It's something we've looked at a little bit and with all the nonsense with Florida will be something that we will get seriously into in Q1 next year. It's all so labour intensive though, that's the problem. Some of the Adwords winners have 10 - 15 highly trained staff stuffing in those keywords at some speed!

Was thinking about opening up an Adwords creative factory in India.... are you up for that!?

Not sure that I understand how I would benefit from you having an Adwords creative factory in India. Would also say that to have such an "eggs in one basket" business might be asking for trouble though, as Florida must have brought home to many of us?

just covering one of the many aspects of search! Also looking at pfi and others. Adwords is labour intensive, so that was the point. Although I must say the Google team seems to be pretty efficient in helping design the basic creative. Whether or not the conversion ratio could be higher with a dedicated team is the question.

I also wonder what the advantages of having your own site and then sending the buyers to an affiliate program rather than straight to the program itself. Have you thought about that?

We are currently building an affilate comparison site that checks all the affiliates in a particular industry via xml for the best possible price, thus encouraging the multi interest scenrio where you get repeat visits and a higher convesrion ratio.

Are you sending the people there because it's easy to do or you think you can manage multiple accounts rather than build your own sites?
