Affliate Programes - HELP PLEASE!

Hi,

We have a site using OsCommerce selling Products.

Can someone please explain to me how a affiliate scheme works, will we benefit and any reccomendations.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but Im getting to grips with e-commerce slowly!

You actually might be better off in the affiliate forum...

But an affiliate program is where you pay a certain percentage of sales to websites that send (purchasing) traffic to your site.

You need excellent tracking to do it. So you might just want to go third party, though 3rd party gets pricy.

Check out commission junction, be free and link share. They are the big times.

Also, do a search for shawn collins on google. He has a nice intro site and book about setting up affiliate programs. (I'd put the URL but you aren't suppose to do that so I imaging a mod will be along shortly to remove yours ;) )

I know osCommerce has a whole lot of free 'contribution' modules you can add on to it... I wouldn't be surprised to find one or more very adequate affiliate program modules available. You might want to have whoever installed the software for you look through osCommerce's website to see what they have listed.
