Travel affilates using the GDS systems.....

How long (ofter check-out) til you get your check?

Hi all, I would like to know, about how long does it take lodging or travelnow to pay you after your booking's have left with the GDS system? I'm thinking like 6 months, am I close? thanks.

In range, though on the top end, perhaps. I usually figure on a minimum of 90 days.

Any differents in the payments from "lodging or travelnow" as far as who collects better or who pays faster? Also, is like 75% of all GDS sales about right as far as a figure you can expect to be paid from all GDS sales?

Is there any company out there that pay 6% or better on sales and have 40k rooms or more that (are not) in the GDS system and pay faster? Thanks all.

90 days is a good estimate on payment. Within 90 days you collect most of the money that will be collected. That said, I've see a good collector get payment years after the fact- and I'll take that as well.

If you are concerned about collections, you will want to be cautios on asking for over 40,000 gds hotels. Not all of those hotels will pay, or pay well. That's the nature of the business- You cna have closer to 30,000 and collect well- or close to 40,000 and place more importance on your selection.

This seems to be inline with my experience.

There are other providers than those mentioned. I have a number of sites with one of them and I believe they have a better collections team than most, but I won't say which ;)
