Alternatives to DoubleClick?

Hi all,

I've been asked to look into a lower cost alternative to DoubleClick for ad management. One of our business units sells banner ads, and they use DoubleClick to track impressions and clicks for 10-20 advertisers.

Seems like there must be another way to track impressions and clicks for our advertisers, whether that is through a DoubleClick competitor (if there is such a thing) or through WebTrends somehow. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
G.

Zedo is 1 of the strong but reasonably priced players out there, failing that Adtech or Accipiter.

Good luck...

There are thousands of ways to do it. It all really
depends on how sophisticated you need your serving to be:
- do you content target
- do you user target
- do you time of day target
- is it just banners, or dhtml ads?

Also, do you want to serve them yourself. It is often nice
to have an unbiased third party counting your money. You can also get great customer service.

A simple program phpAds can do a quick and dirty job, but I'm assuming that you have "business units" you need something that is more accountable. I would look at a great number of places that are service based (find one in a healthy financial situation)

A lot of other ad networks resell their ad serving. Fastclick and Burst Media do this - Burst has a really nice geo-targeting feature built in and is really cheap. They don't have the fanciest user interface, but they've been around a while. In my opinion, the others are a bit overpriced and offer features you'll never use.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'll know tomorrow about how complex our needs are, but my sense is not very. I'll post a followup if I find out anything interesting.

Thanks again!
