Hi, never having dabbled in affilaite marketing I am keen to test out a few bits.

However just was wondering do people like Commission Junction's clients allow you to connect to a database to create product pages or even give you a CSV file to download each week with updated product links or are you limited to hard coding links and pages?

bateman_ap, CJ has quite a few plublishers that offer data feeds at this time. These tend to be in .csv format and include the following:

price, description, link to image, etc.

Your best bet is to contact each program directly through the CJ interface and inquire about data feeds.

Bateman,

CJ offers numerous datafeed from lots of merchants but they charge for their feed unless you generate $10,000 a month in commissions. So since you are new you would probably have to pay $250. That's why I had a free private feed developed outside of CJ for one of my merchants, so even new affiliate could get access as no charge. Im glad I did because since we started offering this our sales have quadrupled in 3 months.

I know alot of other CJ merchants that offer free private feeds as well in fact, I started a thread on another forum for merchants that offer free feeds to list their features. It's too long to post here and I think it's against the other forums TOS to repost it.

But there are a lot of CJ merchants offering feeds through CJ and privately, it just takes some digging to find them.
If you have a particlular product niche you can search for product links in CJ, find the ones that offer a CJ feed and then contact the merchants directly to see if they have a private feed available also.

Hope this helps.
