I got a letter from the Amazon Associates Program today stating that certain products from their "marketplace" selection were not being credited correctly and that they are going to adjust my account in a few days.

Furthermore, they also are going to give me about $5 for incorrect calculations from the first 2 quarters.

Anyone else get a similar email?

I got two of them ;)

It does sound as though they are attempting to track them down. I am also getting about $5 for the "best estimate of the additional amount you are owed."

I knew somethng was not right when I bought a non-media item myself, cause i needed it, thru my own affiliate link and it never showed up on my credits. I was about to go to the trouble of contacting them about this when I got the letter.
I'll be interested to see if it shows up.

Hmmm I would think that buying stuff from your own affiliate link would be a no-no. Check the Amazon ToS to be sure...you might not get credited for that purchase.

Whenever I am one or two non-media items short for the next payment tier, I always ask my Mom to send her grandson something from Toys R US via the Associates link. There is a lot of stuff can pick out. Last quarter her $6.99 purchase earned me an extra ~$40 because I hit the next tier. ;)

I'm getting a little more than $50, but it hasn't hit my bank account yet.

I have had it with amazon. I placed their links on one of my high trafficked site and it earns me nothing over $100 per month and thats way too low ;) Sorry no amazon for me anymore, cause with the number of clicks I send them daily, I could easily earn much much more with google adsense.

Once competitor less on the page means more profit :)

I put an Amazon search box in the right hand column of one of my sites, along with two suggested titles (themed for the page, and the site's topic) with a link to a page with all suggested titles on the site, and have the "easy links" banner at the bottom of all the pages - my conversion and click-through has shot up about 50%.

I don't want to do adsense on this site because I sell advertising to local businesses, and the ones that don't advertise with me have to use adsense because my site dominates the SERPs. :)
