I've got a section of a site up with free graphics that doesn't get enormous traffic, but it's moderately healthy and very, very steady.

The graphics are an idle pastime, but it's occurred to me that the traffic is totally going to waste.

Are there any appropriate ideas for generating a small bit of income from those pages? Affiliate programs? Run some banners?

It's being *technically* treated as separate from the main site, and I've never even thought of getting any links to it (except from the rest of the site).

I should probably generate links also at this point.

I would suggest affiliate progs to make a few bucks. You can use Commission Junction, OnResponse, Websponsors type companies and feel confident about being paid. These programs have a lot of free offers that generate leads that have a decent CPA. They would tie in well with free graphics.

Banner agency CPMs are at an all time low. You would be better off (IMO) using text links anyway.

One thought would be to use NetSetter (CJ - $4/lead) for faster downloads. Text ad: "Are the graphics too slow in loading? Click here to speed up."

Good luck!
