I have sports site with approximately 500 visitors per day. Now I have some advertisements offer from a different companies. How I can decide how much to charge potential advertisers for banners or text links?

With a fair prices!

A good guideline is to see what your competitors are charging with similar traffic. There is no set guidelines for advertising, but rather it is based upon how much advertisers would be willing to pay to advertise on your particular site. It varies wildly depending on the niche market of each site.

If you still aren't sure about what rates to set, it is better to start on the lower end of the price scale, then gradually work your way up.

I would suggest signing up for adnetworks and running just enough ads to be stay in their programs.
That will give you an idea of what your alternatives are to direct sales.
You can than alternate between adnetworks and direct sales according to which is more profitable.

I agree with firstmark as well. Firstly, it may be a little difficult for the advertisers to continue advertising when they realize that the reach of the site is not much, unless of course they see some major interest in advertising.

Apply to Fastclick.com, Google Adsense, and other advertising networks and you may just end up with more revenue that with your inhouse advertising scheme, mainly because your traffic is still low.

Good luck.
