Hi MrSpeed,

I really have not seen a list of programs that offer a datafeed. The best advice that I can think of would be to contact the main players like cj, linkshre etc. and see what they can offer you.

Also were you looking for programs in a specific industry, or just looking for a resource that listed all programs that had a datafeed? I really can't see how anyone could monetize a list of programs that offered datafeeds (unless they just listed two-tier programs whith their affiliate ID in place), so I think it might be pretty tough to find such a list. However if you were looking for programs that offered datafeeds in a specific industry, it should be pretty quick and easy to contact them direct.

I was looking for programs in a specific industries. For example I'll say, "Boy I'd like to sell widgets". Currently I look over the affiliate programs for widgets but they don't always give details until you sign up for their program.

Contact the Affiliate manager before signing up and ask.

Sometimes it's just quicker to sign up for the program,
which could say something about the program in the first place.

I do sometimes email the affiliate manager with specific questions. I have this feeling that maybe they feel their efforts are best spent on existing affilliate partners.

I sometimes feel like Julie Roberts in Pretty Woman,"You wouldn't wait on me. You work on commission right? Big mistake! Big! Huge!"

er uh except my legs aren't as nice as hers in a skirt ;)

Always ask- Some have ones that aren't quite "public" others may set one up if they know there is interest.

May I ask a rather stupid question? We are currently putting together an affiliate program and I read here about data feeds, but mostly how nice they are not really what they are in relation to affiliate programs or how you use them.

As an affiliate, how important is it to you to have a date feed? How would you like to retrieve a data feed? XML, or spreadsheet or other? How exactly would you use a data feed?

I'm not sure what I want is a data feed or a data dump, but what I'd appreciate is a mysqldump of an entire prd base and the means by which to have that data updated every so often with prices etc...

Essentially, give me the data and let me use it the way I want...

Here is a press release from CJ regarding how much their datafeed helps with conversion ratios, I thought you may find interesting.

According to a CJ Press Release, direct product links (ie: CJ Product catalog) average conversion rates double those of traditional link formats.

[cj.com...]

The problem with the CJ feed is they charge publishers for it unless you are making $10,000 a month in sales.

2 companies I work with currently offer datafeeds. One is in CJ and we had so many requests for a FREE private feed that we had one programmed. I can tell you that this move has been OVERWHELMINGLY successful for us and our partners and sales are already starting to grow. Plus for the Merchant asking about feeds it has attracted a lot of new affiliates because datafeeds are just in huge demand right now.

Comment from one of my datafeed beta testers:
"It took me less than 1 hour to process it and generate the site. Far better than many of the other datafeeds. It is one of the easiest and most customizable ones I've used so far. Great Job!" From that comment you can see why affiliates love it. What a great, easy, automated way to build a site.

The other is an "Indie" that I have been trying to convince to do a datafeed. The above article from CJ finally convinced them. FYI one site is luggage and the other is the best paying musical instruments and DJ equipment. It don't think I can post their names here though.

All the best
Linda

Heck yeah. Then you have options on how you want to slice the products to hopefully come up with some unique niches.
And don't forget the images.
