Hi all,

Still new to affiliate programs, went on what seems to be a big player in the affiliate program in the UK (not a program but a place where you can see what company uses this company to pay their affiliate - sorry can't use name :)) - and as a result I have 2 questions ...

  • what does 'leads' means in the com column, is that a kind of pay per click or is it if they fill an online form on merchant site or so?

  • if I wanted to become affiliate in, say, the computer 'category' do you think I would get pb with merchant if I have 2 different affiliate programs selling the same product and running on the same site?

  • ... oups sorry it was 3 questions ;) ... what does UV means (still in the com column)

    Thanks for the help.

I don't think anyone will be able to explain that other sites meaning of things very well without knowing the site.

I will tell you that most affiliate program review sites I have found to be incomplete for my needs. Those sites often do not list programs that do not offer two tier commissions.
I end up hunting for things myself. Adnetwork info sites I find a similar situation with only a few sites providing any good information. This is why I created my own site on this topic.

Leads can mean many things as far as affiliate marketing since you asked. It can mean signups for free offers, filling in contact information for more info, or something along those lines.

    UV probably means unique views.
In affiliate marketing all that really matters is your effective cpm and effective cpm for unique views, or per visitor.

Most affiliate programs don't have any restrictions on promoting their competitors. A few do but most don't.
But really you should only promote two similar companies products if the products differ enough to provide a different value to your visitors.
