rencke, have you ever dabbled in affiliate programs? Check out this thread [webmasterworld.com] for some quick thoughts.
Another option is finding direct advertisers yourself, as rc mentioned in that thread. It can involve a lot more legwork, but the potential for long term, fixed partnering is much greater, and you have more control of some aspects. Depending on your user demographics/topic, you might do very well selling on your own.
rc, CJ had some problems over a week or so ago. The banner loading and clickthrough redirects were slower than normal. They have recently added more servers, and upgraded their connection. (They didn't share any specifics, if I recall.) I haven't noticed any problems since, aside from minor difficulties with account management, which they are said to be working on. I think you will be fine. Please let us know how it works out.
