Hello everybody. I'm planning to offer two months of free text ads on my site in order to know a little more about my future clients. I agree that the term "free" sounds cheap so I want to avoid this misinterpretation.
I never offered advertising on my site since the beginning (almost 5 years online), my site traffic figures are interesting being a spanish dental site (1800 visitors daily, almost 100% content, articles and case studies, 20 k newsletters subscribers) so I want to make it right from the start.
The idea is that during this two months of free ads I'll help the "customers" reach their audience improving ads, knowing them a little more, and finally selling "services" (more ellaborated advertising...).

Is this the right path? ANY advice is truly appreciated!

Sounds like a good idea, How about promoting it as a beta test, no fees, short application, willingness to provide feedback, etc.. Maybe provide 30 days free to beta tester after you start the fee based program.

Let us know how it turns out.

Thanks for your feedback watercrazed!. Yes, that's the idea, to have an experience with our site, and then start the talking.
Helping profile the campaign, (providing weekly measurements, setting up calls to listen to their ideas and goals) and and getting known is part of the strategy.

Did anyone made something similar? with results?

Thanks!
